Because of the upcoming vacation, I'm working a rare Sunday shift. The holiday schedule has guaranteed that there have been very few phone calls or e-mails today, so I've used my time to finish up all of my Christmas cards as well as balancing my checkbook. My last major assignment for myself is to finish reading my new camera's 300-page instruction manual before leaving for Florida on Wednesday; I'm currently around page 200.

There's not much of major importance going on right now, apart from preparing for the trip. With this in mind, Laura and I exchanged our Christmas gifts last night--never mind that we actually spent yesterday afternoon buying said gifts. The major gifts she bought me involved grooming supplies and a swell bottle of Bulgari Soir cologne, while I bought her a Rick Bayless cookbook, a world atlas to inspire both of us to pick somewhere we'd like to visit in 2010 or 2011, and a promise to buy a GPS unit in January.

I don't think that I'll be squeezing in any more entries before leaving on Wednesday, so this will be my Christmas exit. Any spoilers for the first part of "The End Of Time" will be studiously avoided, especially since I have my own theory about the show that I'd rather find out by watching it, thankyouverymuch (synopsis: The Master returns but he's not the real bad guy; the Time Lords stop hiding from the Doctor, as HE is "the bad guy;" both the Master and the Time Lords attempt to perform an intervention with the Doctor, with the end result having some parallels to "The War Games."). I leave you with a pretty picture taken by one Stewart Bremner:
